Geography
French Camp is located in western Choctaw County at 33°17′38″N 89°24′1″W. It is bordered to the south by Attala County. The Natchez Trace Parkway passes through the town, crossing Mississippi Highway 413 just west of the center of town.

History
The town dates back to circa 1810, when a Frenchman, Louis Lefleur, established a stand or trading post and inn on the Natchez Trace. The Choctaw natives and others in the area called it the Frenchman's Camp. Later it was shortened to French Camp.

French Camp Town Hall
French Camp Town Hall, located in Mississippi, serves as the center for municipal operations and houses the Volunteer Fire Department. It operates under a Mayor-Aldermen government, with meetings on the first Tuesday of each month. Glen Barlow is the current mayor.
French Camp Academy Campus
French Camp Academy in Mississippi is a Christian boarding school for grades 7-12. Its 900-acre campus includes educational facilities, dorms, and the Rainwater Observatory. The academy also runs support ministries like a café, B&B, and radio station.
Natchez Trace Historic Village
French Camp Historic Village, on the Natchez Trace Parkway, showcases early American life with preserved log cabins and the 1846 Drane House. It also features a gift shop and hosts an annual Harvest Festival.
Camp of the Rising Son
Camp of the Rising Son, a ministry of French Camp Academy, is a Christian summer camp for ages 6-17. Located on 300 acres by Lake Ann, it offers horseback riding, water sports, and creative arts. The camp focuses on faith, nature, and personal growth.
